Community & Conservation

Part of our promise to give back, the Legend African is a non-profitable entity which strives to make a positive difference to communities surrounding Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg region, through poverty alleviation, skills development, education and sport. Our current and ongoing projects include our Supporting the Schools initiative, the Computer School, life skills projects, Legend Foundation Musical Performers, Sports Academy and Training, donations to Santa’s Shoebox and 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day.

The Rhino Orphanage

As the world’s first dedicated rhino orphanage, this specialised, non-profit charity has a centre dedicated to the care of orphaned baby rhino with the sole objective of raising them and releasing them back into the wild one day. Established in 2012, the orphanage consists of a series of specially built enclosures and camps and is manned by a group of dedicated full-time staff and supported by volunteers.

This unique centre facilitates Environmental Education and Endangered Wildlife Research and conservation programmes. The Entabeni Breeding Centre is the custodian of the White Lion breeding project and the disease-free Buffalo breeding project. Both species are recognised within the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and dedicated conservation projects have been established to aid in reducing global extinction rates.
